WH40K Collab

"Front page"

submission: WH40K Collab
date: November 8, 2009

Needs blessing with this. A few dodgy animations aside, it's a bug-free, brilliantly written labour of love, that I can see from reading the BBS thread.

Fantastic work guys, and a pleasure to see some of the excellent art in there. One of the best non-staff collabs in a very long time. And that's not because I own a lot of Imperials.

We thank you for your kind words MajorBanter, it does mean a lot to us as collab members, especially to Myself and FlashBound who were quite taken aback by your review, it really is appriecated, thank you.

D-Day Defender

"Well built"

submission: D-Day Defender
date: October 26, 2009

Art style is strangely fitting, the music is excellent, the cut-scenes are well made and the gameplay adrenaline charged.

However, it suffers two flaws in my opinion.

- The 'weapon boost' from the engineers lasts too little time for the effort involved to obtain it.
- It's a very emotional, well thought out game, but once again the UK's role in D-Day is entirely missed. I feel that's not so much an insult but just historically unfair.

Vector Conflict The Siege

"Brilliant but flawed"

date: October 22, 2009

I can feel the work that went into this. A superior game of top-notch quality, I feel it's let down only slightly by two problems.

- Level length times vary wildly. 'The Spiral' was boring and overlong, and left me with 1179 credits to spend, whereas the level before was a few Nightjar tanks.

- Music. It's absolutely brilliant when it breaks, but a lot of it is very slow and paced, usually out of sorts with the insane action on screen.

Fantastic work all the same and thoroughly deserving of the Daily Feature. I don't want a new version though - a heavily updated one will do fine.

Pico Blast

"Bad gameplay design"

submission: Pico Blast

Awesome music, graphics, etc etc
But why are you eased into an easy Metal Slug style intro, then dumped into a boss that's incredibly hard? Not fun, just frustrating. No good for casual play.
